Cottonwood technolodgy fund is an early stage VC that invests in hard science. They focus on strong patents and therefore they do not invest in software, platforms or apps.
Their key investment criteria are high tech technology / hard science (patent / IP based): robotics, photonics, telecom, optics, automotive, clean energy, sensor technology, high-tech health, nanotechnology, chemicals, advanced materials, etcetera. Cottonwood invests primarily in the Southwestern USA and Northwestern Europe.
Cottonwood initial investment size ranges from 1 – 2 M (pre-seed / seed). Cottonwood only invests in the founding / seed stage and together with partners and other investors in follow-on rounds of our own portfolio.
