Cariqa – who has built an EV payments platform giving charge point operators (CPOs) full control over pricing, payments and compliance – raises €4M to fix fragmented EV charging payments and bring price transparency to drivers. The well oversubscribed seed round was co-led by Anthemis Group and Contrarian Ventures, with participation from Earth,
Female Innovators Lab Fund, Golden Egg Check and Techstars.

The team of Cariqa will use the funding round to fix the fragmented payments infrastructure holding back Europe’s EV transition.

Cariqa’s co-founder and CCO Tamara Ciullo: “The EV charging market is still young and that gives us a unique chance to build it right from the ground up. Just because a fragmented and inefficient system has taken hold doesn’t mean we have to accept it. EV drivers deserve transparent pricing. CPOs should be in control of their infrastructure. Together, we can create a better, fairer system without relying on unnecessary intermediaries.”

Tamara about the new round of investment: “With this funding, we can double down on what works: helping CPOs grow their business, not someone else’s, and making EV charging fairer and more transparent for drivers.”

Golden Egg Check Capital initially invested in Cariqa in 2024.
