Ze investeren zowel rechtstreeks als via een aantal Europese fondsen in groeibedrijven en technologie die relevant zijn voor KPN. Wat is de toekomst van corporate venturing? En hoe kunnen startups beter met corporates samenwerken? We zijn in gesprek met Herman Kienhuis, managing director van KPN Ventures. \u201cUiteindelijk wil je dat het fonds bijdraagt aan de strategie en doelstellingen van het bedrijf.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"c928\" class=\"kx ky bv aq kz b la lb lc ld le lf lg lh li lj lk\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Herman was al bezig met corporate venturing lang voordat het \u2018cool\u2019 was. Na 8 jaar strategie en business development te hebben gedaan bij Sanoma (Digital) zag hij kans om voor de uitgever een investeringsfonds op te zetten. Op die manier konden ze meer in startups gaan investeren in plaats van alle nieuwe producten zelf te ontwikkelen.<\/p>\n<p id=\"e9ae\" class=\"kx ky bv aq kz b la lb lc ld le lf lg lh li lj lk\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Met SanomaVentures investeerde hij in vier jaar in meer dan twintig digitale startups, maar na de dure aankoop van SBS door moeder Sanoma was er steeds minder ruimte voor digitale investeringen, en besloot Herman voor zichzelf te starten als angel investor.<\/p>\n<p id=\"0ab8\" class=\"kx ky bv aq kz b la lb lc ld le lf lg lh li lj lk\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Maar een paar maanden later stond KPN op de stoep met het verzoek om hun investeringsfonds te leiden. Terwijl het investeren in startups net lekker begon te lopen, was dit ook een mooie uitdaging voor Herman.<\/p>\n<p id=\"872d\" class=\"kx ky bv aq kz b la lb lc ld le lf lg lh li lj lk\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Het werd een combinatie: \u00e9\u00e9n dag in de week is hij angel investor, en de overige dagen zijn voor KPN Ventures.
