By 2030, data centers could use 3.2 percent of global electricity consumption. However, few data center operators can effectively control their energy and water usage, which is a looming disaster for the climate. Enter Coolgradient, founded by Jasper de Vries and Ren\u00e9 Gompel in 2023, with the aim of reducing 1 percent of the global energy consumption by cooling data centers. Providing detailed visibility into the performance of all center assets, from the roof to the room, its machine learning models analyze data from existing data center assets such as cooling systems and power distribution units. It then identifies inefficiencies and offers solutions for continuous optimization, saving up to 40 percent in utilities usage. In May, it completed an undisclosed funding round from the early-stage impact investor 4impact with participation of Golden Egg Check and angel investors.<\/p>\n
