Het Nederlandse fintech-landschap is zich sinds een aantal jaar stormachtig aan het ontwikkelen met opvallende successen als Adyen, Mollie, Bunq en Bux. Op Emerce Financials<\/a>, vanaf dinsdag 2 november online, laten Thomas Mensink (Golden Egg Check), Jan Willem Nieuwenhuize (ING Ventures) en Friso Roscam Abbing (Finch Capital) hun licht schijnen over deze opkomende markt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Door het succes van bedrijven als Adyen en Mollie, en de kennis van de honderden medewerkers die hier werken, ontstaat er een grote aanwas van nieuwe ondernemers. Ondernemers die het trucje al eens vaker hebben gedaan en weten hoe ze valkuilen moeten vermijden.<\/p>\n

De herhaling helpt het ecosysteem volwassen te maken. Mensink (Golden Egg Check) noemt als voorbeeld Biller, een AI-aangedreven \u2018koop nu, betaal later\u2019-product voor online B2B-aankopen. \u201cJe zou het een liefdesbaby van Mollie en Klarna kunnen noemen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Er is meer kapitaal dan er goede idee\u00ebn zijn, zeggen de fintechspecialisten. Toch ligt de nadruk op financiering van bedrijven in een latere fase van hun bestaan. De financiering van prille idee\u00ebn blijft nog lastig. Al was het maar omdat het succes van die producten vaak moeilijk is in te schatten.<\/p>\n

Een andere ontwikkeling is dat de nieuwe generatie ondernemers zich meer richt op het effici\u00ebnter maken van huidige financi\u00eble instellingen in plaats van met ze te concurreren. Wellicht ook uit lijfsbehoud. Ze hebben dan immers potenti\u00eble klanten tot hun beschikking.<\/p>\n

Jan Willem Nieuwenhuize (ING Ventures) noemt regelgeving als voorbeeld. \u201cDenk aan het scannen van organisaties op risico\u2019s die samenhangen met de privacywetgeving.\u201d Grote financi\u00eble instellingen zijn volgens hem niet wendbaar genoeg om een dergelijk nicheproduct in de markt te zetten. \u201cWij zijn juist op zoek naar dit soort aanvullende specialismes. Laat ons de leuke dingen doen, en anderen de complexere vraagstukken oplossen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wat volgens Nieuwenhuize ook helpt is dat het ondernemerschap een grote aantrekkingskracht heeft op studenten, terwijl voorheen carri\u00e8re maken bij grote bedrijven belangrijk werd gevonden.<\/p>\n

Golden Egg Check heeft volgens Mensink het plan opgevat om met financiers een gezamenlijk fonds op te zetten om kansrijke fintechs nog beter te begeleiden.<\/p>\n
