Investeerders hielden even de hand op de knip, maar al snel vlogen de miljoenen weer over tafel. Startuponderzoeksbureau Golden Egg Check becijferde dat Nederlandse startups in 2020 1,7 miljard euro ophaalden, 300 miljoen euro meer dan in 2019. Met rentestanden rond het vriespunt lijken vermogenden en institutionele investeerders hun rendementen elders te zoeken.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text\">\u2018Ook zien we steeds meer interesse van buitenlandse investeerders&#8217;, zegt Thomas Mensink van Golden Egg Check. Hij schat dat ongeveer de helft van de geldschieters van over de grens komt en driekwart van het ge\u00efnvesteerde kapitaal inbrengt. De toenemende interesse geeft startups of scale-ups een betere onderhandelingspositie. \u2018Zo kunnen ze meer geld krijgen voor hetzelfde aandelenbelang.\u2019 De stijging van het totaal ge\u00efnvesteerde bedrag is slechts deels te verklaren door grote klappers als Messagebird (200 miljoen dollar) en Mollie (90 miljoen euro). \u2018Ook het gemiddelde investeringsbedrag is omhooggegaan.\u2019 In 2021 staan de geldsluizen wederom wagenwijd open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text\">\u2018In het eerste kwartaal is zo\u2019n 750 miljoen euro opgehaald, bijna drie keer zoveel als vorig jaar\u2019, zegt Mensink. Een belangrijk deel van dit bedrag komt op het conto online mode-outlet Otrium dat 120 miljoen dollar binnenharkte. Mensink denkt dat het voorlopig nog wel even investeringen blijft regenen. \u2018Venture-capitalfondsen hebben veel geld opgehaald.
